Customers
Q. Will the birth date field in Heartland POS sync over into the customer profile in Marsello?
A. If you'd like to sync customer birthdays to Marsello from Heartland POS, you will need to create a custom birthday field in Heartland POS. The field must be called either "Birthdate - MM/DD/YYYY" or "Birthdate - DD/MM/YYYY" so Marsello may map to it. You are welcome to choose the date format that suits best.
Q. I'd like to create a landing page form for my store to collect important details from customers. Will this automatically feed into Heartland POS?
A. Currently, Marsello does not write data back into Heartland POS. The collected details will sit in the customer's Marsello account.
Q. When a merchant merges customer accounts in Heartland, what happens to their accounts in Marsello? Do they remain as two separate accounts?
A. When the accounts are merged in the integration, the "merged" file is essentially deleted from the integration. This will sync across to Marsello and the "merged" file will also be removed there.
Q. If a customer has previously unsubscribed to marketing in Marsello, but later makes the choice to opt-in to marketing at checkout, either in-store (Heartland) or online (Shopify), is that choice to opt-in again reflected in Marsello?
A. If the customer has unsubscribed via the link at the bottom of a Marsello email, they will not automatically be re-subscribed in Marsello by opting in via the integration. The unsubscribe link only impacts internal Marsello data not data at the integration. You will however, be able to manually re-subscribe the customer via their profile in the Marsello app.

Heartland POS and eCommerce Integrations
Shopify
Q. I have both Heartland POS and Shopify eCommerce connected to Marsello. If I change a customer's marketing status in one integration, will that sync across to the other integration and update the marketing status there as well?
A. Any updates to the customer's marketing status will only sync through Heartland.
Q. I have both Heartland POS and Shopify eCommerce connected to Marsello. In addition, I am using Hyperspace to sync customer orders across these sales platforms as are not directly integrated. Is there anything I need to do to prevent the possibility of orders duplicating in Marsello?
A. If you are using Hyperspace to sync customer orders across both Shopify and Heartland POS, it is recommended to create a custom field on the sales order ID in Heartland POS. It is also recommended to call this custom field "Shopify order ID". This will make it easy to identify any potential order duplications.
