How do I merge two customer profiles into one?

Merge customer profiles into one profile in Marsello to keep data, purchases, and rewards in one place.

Occasionally, you may find multiple customer profiles in your customer database. This can happen if the customer's details have been added incorrectly or if the customer has multiple email addresses. This will create a separate customer profile in Marsello.

⚠️ Important: Before merging customers’ profiles, contact them to confirm which email address they would like to keep.

How do I combine customers' points balances?

1. In your Marsello admin, navigate to Customers > All Customers


2. Identify the customer profiles by searching for their name or email address

In your Marsello admin, go to Customers > All Customers. Search for the customer by name or email address to find their profile

3. Open the customer's profile that you want to remove. In this profile, click Customer actions > Adjust points balance


4. Under Points adjustment, enter a - (minus sign) and then their total points balance

  • Using the sample customer above, if the account [email protected] had 50 points, you would enter in -50 to change the balance to 0.

5. Click Apply points adjustment. This profile's points balance will now be 0.


6. Open the customer's profile that you want to keep. In this profile, click Actions > Adjust points balance


7. Under Points adjustment, add the points that you removed from the other profile

  • For example, we need to add the 50 points from the customer's second profile, so we adjust by adding 50 points.

Click 'Apply points adjustment' to set the profile's points balance to 0. Then, open the profile you want to keep, click Actions > Adjust points balance, and add the points removed from the other profile (e.g., add 50 points). Click Apply points adjustment. The customer's profile will now have the total number of points that they've earned at your store.

8. Click Apply points adjustment. The customer's profile will now have the total number of points that they've earned at your store.

How do I remove a customer profile?

1. Open the customer's profile that you want to remove. In this profile, click Customer actions > Remove Customer

Open the profile of the customer you want to remove. Click Actions > Remove Customer

⚠️ Important: Please double-check you have selected the correct customer before proceeding.

2. Click Yes, remove customer! to confirm that you want to remove the customer.

Click 'Yes, remove customer' to confirm. The customer will no longer be part of your loyalty program or receive marketing messages.

The customer will no longer be part of your loyalty program or receive your marketing.

⚠️ Important: This will also remove them from your Marsello subscription and will not be added back into your Marsello database the next time they shop or via import. The customer will need to be re-added via their customer profile within Marsello.
