Campaign approval process
Once you have crafted your first email campaign or automation with Marsello and scheduled it to send, the campaign or automation will be placed on hold for the Customer Support team to review. After the team has reviewed your campaign or automation, you will be able to check its approval status within your Marsello account. This approval process ensures compliance with email marketing regulations and your account's settings, ensuring campaigns align with industry standards. To get started, complete the following steps:
Set Up Your Account: Import your customer list, personalize your email content (e.g., subject line, sender details, and template), and connect and authenticate your custom sending domain by adding the required DNS records.
Submit for Approval: Once your account setup is complete, your campaign will be reviewed for compliance. Approval is required before you can send campaigns or automations.
Schedule or Send Manually: After approval, campaigns are saved as drafts. You must manually schedule or send them when ready.
📝 Note: The approval process may take up to 48 hours. During this time, Marsello ensures each campaign adheres to compliance standards and regulations.## What Triggers Re-Approval of Campaigns? Certain changes within your Marsello account can trigger a review of previously approved campaigns, such as:
Modifications to compliance-sensitive settings like the unsubscribe page or preferences.
Changes that affect campaign alignment with email marketing policies. Marsello will prompt users for re-approval in such cases.- Content-related triggers, such as spam elements in subject lines (e.g., words like "urgent" or "free," excessive capitalization, or punctuation). To avoid this, use clear, natural, and value-focused subject lines.
System audits conducted periodically by carriers, which may temporarily place campaigns in "Review" status.
Account activity changes, such as a pause in activity or system updates that reset certain checks.
⚠️ Important: Email providers are now stricter than ever. It is highly recommended to send by a personalized email domain. This will help ensure your emails are delivered to your customers and are not being marked as SPAM.
Steps after approval for Campaigns
When your Campaign has been approved, it will automatically be saved as a draft in your app admin. Note that emails do not send automatically after approval. To officially send your first campaign, please follow these steps:
Log into your Marsello app admin
Navigate to Marketing > Campaigns > Email, you'll see your draft here
Click through the steps to the Review & Confirm page, then ensure it's scheduled for the right time
After it's scheduled and ready to go, click Schedule Campaign and it will go out on your time!
Marsello will only need to approve your first campaign or automation, so any subsequent campaigns or automations crafted and scheduled from approval onwards will be sent as expected, as long as they comply with existing guidelines. However, re-approval may be required if a triggering condition occurs, such as compliance updates, content-related triggers, or system resets.
Steps after approval for Automations
No further action is required for Automations upon approval. Once your Automation has been approved, it will automatically be enabled in-app and will begin sending its set audience.
