Create a discount code in K-Series for your Marsello rewards and email discounts

Generate discount codes within K-Series to fuel your Marsello loyalty rewards and email promotions.

Create your discount codes in K-Series to power your Marsello loyalty rewards and email discounts. This will enable you to show appreciation to your loyal customers by offering them earned discounts.

⚠️ Important: You need to create your discount in both K-Series and Marsello. This allows your customers to use their points to redeem their loyalty rewards. When they claim their discount code, Marsello will automatically generate the discount code in all of your POS or eCommerce integrations connected to your Marsello account so the customer redeem their reward across any of your locations.

How to create a discount code in Lightspeed Restaurant (K-Series) POS

1. In K-Series admin, go to Configuration > Settings

2. Under Settings, click Discounts

3. In the discounts screen, click + Add a discount

4. Enter the discount settings

  • Enter Code e.g. $5off

  • Select either Rate (% off) or Amount ($ off)

  • Enter discount amount e.g. 5

  • Add description e.g. "MarselloLoyaltyReward" or "MarselloEmailDiscount"

5. Copy the Code, and save it ready to paste into your Marsello reward settings.

⚠️ Important: This Code needs to be copied EXACTLY into the Marsello reward settings. This is how Marsello adds the correct reward discount to the sale.

6. Click Save

How to create a $ or % off storewide loyalty reward in Marsello

In your Marsello dashboard, you'll need to establish a corresponding reward discount configuration for your K-Series discount.

1. In your Marsello admin, go to Loyalty > Points program> Redeeming and click Add Reward

This will open a popup form where you can add the details of your reward.

2. Enter your reward details:

  • Under Select type of reward drop-down select:

    • Fixed Discount Amount ($ off)

    • OR Percentage (% off)

  • Under Title:
    Give your reward a title that indicates to your customers what the reward value is

  • Under Points required to redeem
    Enter the number of points a customer needs to spend to access the reward

  • Under Reward Code (paste your static reward code created in POS)
    Paste the discount code you created in your K-Series account here.

⚠️ Important: This Code needs to match your K-Series discount code EXACTLY. This is how Marsello adds the correct reward discount to the sale.

  • Under Discount amount:
    Enter the reward $ OR % discount amount.

3. Click Advanced options to enter reward usage requirements

  • Next to Expire discount
    Enter the number of days the customer has to use the reward once the reward has been claimed.

4. Click Create.​

Your new reward will now show on the Rewards page of your loyalty program and is ready for your customers to spend points to redeem.

⚠️ Important: $ off and % off loyalty rewards are applicable store-wide only.
