🏷️ Customer blacklisting is available on all Marsello pricing plans.
By default, all customers are included in your loyalty program. You can exclude specific customers—such as employees or suppliers—so they won’t earn loyalty points.
Before you get started
Here are some key details to note before getting started with blacklisting product customers in Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) POS:
All customers earn loyalty points by default
Customer exclusion is managed using Lightspeed Customer Types
Excluded customers:
❌ Do not earn loyalty points
✅ Can still receive email and SMS marketing
How do I exclude customers from loyalty in Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) POS?
How do I create a customer group to exclude from loyalty in Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) POS?
1. In your Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) admin, go to Customers, and click Customer Types
2. On the Customer Types page, select +New Customer Type
3. Name your group, then click Save Changes. Your customer type will now be created in your Lightspeed account.
4. Go to Customers
5. Search for the customer you wish to edit by name or email and click on the customer you wish to edit.
6. From the type drop-down menu, select your new customer type.
7. Click Save Changes to assign that customer to the type. Repeat this for all of the customers that you would like to exclude from your loyalty program.
💡 Tip: Repeat for each customer you want to exclude.
How do I exclude a Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) customer group from loyalty in Marsello?
1. In your Marsello app admin, go to Settings > Loyalty > Points program
2. Under Order Rewarding, find: Exclude customers that are tagged with one of
3. Click the dropdown and select the customer type(s) to exclude
4. Click Save.
✅ Customers in this group will no longer earn loyalty points in-store.
📝Note: If you want to add the customer back into your loyalty program in the future, just remove them from the excluded customer group in Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) POS.
What happens when blacklisted customers shop in-store?
They will not earn loyalty points on their purchases
They can still receive marketing emails and SMS
