  • This reward type is recommended to be online only. If you want to have it available in-store as well, it requires strict staff training to ensure the sale is over the spending threshold.

  • If you have a Shopify store, your reward can have either a spend threshold OR apply to a specific product/collection. If you add a product or collection to the "Apply to..." fields, you will no longer have the option to add a spend threshold.

How it works online - your customers' experience

Your customers redeem their discount code at checkout as they normally would; however, if the subtotal of their order does not meet the spend threshold, they'll get the message: "discount code isnโ€™t valid for the items in your cart" and they won't be able to apply the discount until they increase their subtotal.

At checkout, customers can redeem their discount code, but if their order subtotal doesn't meet the spend threshold, they'll see the message 'Discount code isnโ€™t valid for the items in your cart' and won't be able to apply the discount until the subtotal is increased.

๐Ÿ“ Note: It's important that the title and the terms of your reward make it clear what the minimum spend is so that your customers understand how to redeem it.
