Adding new customers to your Marsello database is essential for accurate tracking, personalized marketing, and seamless syncing across all connected sales channels. By creating a customer profile during checkout in the Shopify POS app, you ensure Marsello can identify the customer, attribute their purchases correctly, and award loyalty points. Collecting key details helps you build richer profiles, improve segmentation, and power targeted campaigns that drive stronger customer engagement and repeat sales.


How do I add a new customer to my database?

To add a new customer to your Marsello customer database, all you need to do is add the new customer to the sale in Shopify POS app on iPad.

1. Add the customer's products that they want to buy to the sale


2. Tap the Add customer tile, then tap Add new customer

3. Add your new customer's details:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email Address (required)

πŸ“ Note: Only First Name and Email are required for adding customers to your Marsello database. Email address is the unique identifier used to match customer profiles with any other sales channels you have connected.

You can also collect:

  • Mobile Number

  • Address

Your customers can also add these additional details via the Complete Profile earn option.

πŸ“ Note: When collecting mobile numbers, please include the country code and avoid any additional formatting like spaces, brackets, or hyphens.
