When a new customer shops in-store, confirming their marketing preferences is crucial for building a compliant and effective database. Customers must actively opt in before they can receive email or SMS marketing through Marsello, so staff should always ask whether they’d like to join the database. Setting the correct marketing toggles in Shopify POS ensures each customer’s consent is accurately captured, allowing Marsello to send the right communications while maintaining trust and compliance. Properly recording these preferences helps you grow a high-quality subscriber list and deliver targeted, engaging messages that support long-term customer loyalty.
