Add an incentive to your sign-up form - Give a discount or loyalty points

Adding an incentive discount or points bonus to your Forms can be a great way to encourage visitors to sign-up for your marketing.

Incentive options for Marsello sign-up forms:

Loyalty points incentive

You can use the earn option, Create an Account, to automatically award bonus loyalty points when they sign up and create an account. This is a great way to encourage new signups for marketing and to get them engaged with your loyalty program.

Discount incentive

Provide new signups with a discount incentive for signing up to your marketing by:

  • Add discount code to your success screen
    Creating the discount code in your POS or eCommerce platform and display this on your form's sign up success screen.
    ​OR

  • Send your discount code via an email automation
    Create a Welcome Automation (in Marsello or Klaviyo) that includes your incentive discount for signing up.

Add discount code or loyalty points to your form success screen

1. In the Marsello admin, go to Loyalty > Forms


2. Click Create Form


3. Click the Form type you want to create (landing page, pop-up or linkin.bio page)

4. In the Form customization, click the text content block

5. Add your incentive details:

  • Add the number of loyalty points the customer will receive for creating an account.

  • Add the title of your discount e.g. 10% OFF

6. Format your Form text toolbar (optional)

You can adjust the following settings to better suit your brand:

  • Font

  • Text size

  • Text formatting – Bold, Italics and underline

  • Text alignment – Left, center and right

  • List options – Bullet points or numbered list

  • Text color

  • Text background color

  • Indent options

  • Link – Add a hyperlink to your text

  • Unlink – Unlink your text

7. Once you are happy with your Form design, click Save switch to design your success page.

8. Drag-and-drop a text block

9. Click into the text content block

10. Add incentive success message:

  • Thank customers, and let them know they've received X points for creating an account.
    OR

  • Add the discount code that you created in your POS or eCommerce platform.

πŸ’‘Tip: If you create a discount with specific requirements of use and an expiry date, make sure to display these to the customer to make sure they know how to use your discount code.

10. Review your form & success page


11. Click Save, then Next Step


12. Click Confirm & Launch your Form

Your customers' experience

Once you've enabled your Form, it will begin to display to your visitors. They will be able to see your discount incentive or account creation loyalty points bonus and join your mailing list by completing the sign-up form.

​Form Screen:
The visitors must enter their Name and Email address, and then opt-in to your mailing list by clicking the Subscribe button at the bottom of the form.

πŸ“ Note: If the visitor doesn't submit their details, they will not be able to access your unique discount code or get your account creation loyalty points.

The visitor will then be added as a customer on your eCommerce (and POS) and into your Marsello list ready to receive your marketing.

Success Screen:

The visitor will then see your Success screen with their discount code or points earned celebration that they can use on their next purchase.

Send your discount code via an email automation

Create a Welcome Automation (in Marsello or Klaviyo) that includes your incentive discount for signing up.

1. In the Marsello admin, go to Loyalty > Forms


2. Click Create Form


3. Click the Form type you want to create (landing page, pop-up or linkin.bio page)

9. Enable your form

Customize your email automation

Create an automation using the trigger Customer Created. Any customer who is added to your Marsello customer base will then receive your email.

πŸ“ Note: You can create this automation in Marsello Automations or using Klaviyo.

Customize your email automation in Marsello

  1. In the Marsello admin, go to Marketing > Automations

  2. Click Create automation > Automation Library

  3. Search for Welcome automation or create an automation from scratch

  4. Click the Trigger settings

  • Automation name: Enter/update your automation name
    This automation name is internal only and is to help you identify your automation in the Automation admin.

  • Trigger – When a customer is created: You can choose to send to all customers who meet this trigger, choose to send to selected segment(s), or create a new segment. The customer can sign up for your marketing via the POS order, eCommerce order, or a form.

  • Exit condition: Exit conditions determine when the customer leaves the automation flow. Select When a customer makes an order or completes the automation flow.

5. Customize your automation flow

6. Add a new step to your automation flow by clicking the + symbol

7. Click Email step

8. Click the pencil icon to customize your email template

9. Customize your email template by using the drag-and-drop content blocks on the right-hand side to customize the design of the email template.

10. Drag-and-drop a Text block, then click the text block

11. Add the title of your discount e.g. 10% OFF

12. Drag-and-drop a Discount block, then click the discount block

13. Content settings, customize your discount button, you can adjust the following settings:

  • Container Padding – how much empty space is around the button
    Clicking More Options allows you to adjust padding for each side individually.

  • Text size – the button text size

  • Text Color – the color of the button text linking to the product

  • Button Text – edit the button text

  • Background Color – the color of the button linking to the product

14. Scroll to the top-right part of the page, click Click here to set the discount settings

15. Create your email discount settings

⚠️ Important: The types of rewards that you can create, depend on the POS and/or eCommerce that you have connected. Learn more.

  • Select the type of discount you'd like to create

  • Enter the discount details:

    • Title – the name of your discount

    • Discount amount – the discount amount that you want to offer

    • Click Advanced options to add extra conditions of use to your discount (optional)

      • Discount applies to – entire order, selected products, or selected collections.

      • Discount expiry – how many days the discount code is valid for once the customer has received the email.

      • Requires a minimum purchase – Select & enter the subtotal amount you want the customer to spend to be able to use the discount code.

      • Terms: Add any terms you'd like your customers to abide by when using their discount code.

16. Click Create

Your discount will be added to your email template, ready for the customer to receive.

Your customers' experience

When the customer receives the email, they will be able to see your Claim Discount button on your email. Your customers can then easily click through to claim their unique discount code to use on their next purchase.

πŸ“ Note: The discount code is created in your POS and/or eCommerce platform when the customer clicks claim, ready for the customer to use on their next purchase.

Once the customer has received the email, the expiry period on the discount will begin.
