Limit reward usage to full-priced items only
π Note: Currently, Marsello doesn't offer a feature to automatically prevent loyalty rewards from being used on already discounted items. If this is something you'd like to see added, feel free to vote for the feature. Your feedback goes directly to our product team and helps us prioritize what matters most to you!
In the meantime, follow the steps below to manually prevent loyalty rewards from being applied to discounted items.
In your sales platform integration
1. Create a product collection or category that includes only the items currently on discount.
2. Save the collection once it's set up.
In your Marsello dashboard
1. Go to Loyalty > Points program> Redeeming and click Add Reward
2. This will open a pop-up form where you can add the details of your reward. Please complete the following:
Select the type of reward you'd like to create from the drop-down
Reward Title: Give your reward a title that lets your customers know which specific product is discounted and get them excited to redeem it.
Points required to redeem: Set the number of points a customer needs to spend to redeem your reward
Discount amount: Enter the discount amount
3. Under Advanced options, scroll to the Applies to section. Select the checkbox "Apply discount to specific products and/or collections. Select the name of the collection of full-priced items you have just created.
4. Still in the Advanced Options menu, under Expiry, tiers and terms, enter the terms that you want your customers to abide by when using this reward
5. Click Create. Your new reward will now show on the Rewards page of your loyalty widget and is ready for your customers to redeem.
β οΈ Important: Remember to update the product collection when a product returns to full price or when a new product is placed on discount.
Creating automatic rewards for customers
π Note: Currently, Marsello doesn't offer a feature to automatically apply a recurring discount to customer orders. If this is something you'd like to see added, feel free to vote for the feature. Your feedback goes directly to our product team and helps us prioritize what matters most to you!
In the meantime, follow the steps below to allow customers to claim a recurring discount at any time. Please note, the customer will still need to have this discount applied at checkout.
In your Marsello dashboard
1. In your Marsello admin, go to Loyalty > Points program > Redeeming and click Add Reward
2. This will open a popup form where you can add the details of your reward. Please complete the following:
Select type of reward: Click Percentage in the drop-down menu
Reward Title: Give your reward a title that lets your customers know which specific product is discounted
Points required to redeem: Set the number of points a customer needs to spend to redeem your reward
Discount amount: Enter 0 as the % discount amount
3. Under the Advanced options menu, go to Apply and click the checkbox Apply discount to specific products and/or collections. Select products from the products/collections drop-down menu. Then start typing in the name of the product that the reward refers to in the apply to these products field. The field will provide you with options so you can select the specific product.
π Note: You can select multiple products for the reward to apply to.
4. Still under the Advanced Options menu, go to Expiry, tiers and terms. Here you can enter the terms that you want your customers to abide by when using this reward. Here are some examples of terms to include with your loyalty rewards
5. Click Create. Your new reward will now show on the Rewards page of your loyalty widget and is ready for your customers to redeem.
β οΈImportant: Customers will be able to claim a 0-point cost reward as often as they like. However, only one discount may be applied per order.
