Customers see the ways they can earn points on the Earn tab of your loyalty widget. When they perform an action that you reward for, they'll automatically earn the points you set.
Overview: The ways that your customers can earn loyalty points
1. Making a purchase
Customers earn points every time they make a purchase at your store, encouraging them to shop with you. Choose how many points you want to reward your customers for every $ they spend. This is the only required point-earning action.
2. Creating a store account
Welcome new customers and kick-start their earnings with points when they create a new customer account. Customers can only get rewarded once for this action.
📝 Note: Customers who already have a store account with your store will not have the 'Create an account' reward available to them.
3. Completing profile
Reward customers points for giving you their personal details. Build an information-rich customer database, including gender, birthday, and mobile number. This is required if you want to reward customers on their birthday and is a great way to increase your SMS database. Customers can only get rewarded once for this action.
4. Birthdays
Build a loyal relationship with your customers and really personalize their point earning. Automatically send them points to say Happy Birthday and delight them on their special day.
📝 Note: You can set the minimum member enrolment period to ensure that customers must have an account for x amount of months (minimum 1 month) before being able to earn birthday points. This is a fraud prevention measure to prevent customers from creating accounts and claiming birthday points immediately.
5. Liking your store on Facebook
Grow your Facebook page likes. Reward points to encourage customers to like your store on Facebook. Points are rewarded when the customer successfully likes your Facebook page. They can only get rewarded once for this action.
6. Following your store on Instagram
Grow your Instagram following. Reward points to encourage customers to follow your store on Instagram. Points are rewarded when the customer follows your Instagram. They can only get rewarded once for this action.
7. Following your store on Twitter
Grow your Twitter following. Reward points to encourage customers to follow you on Twitter. Points are rewarded when the customer follows you on Twitter. They can only get rewarded once for this action.
8. Sharing your store on Facebook
Incentivize customers to spread the word about your store. Reward points when customers share your store on Facebook. Unlike other loyalty apps where customers simply need to click on this option and don't have to complete the share, points are rewarded only when the customer successfully shares your link on Facebook. They can only get rewarded once for this action.
9. Tweeting about your store on Twitter
Incentivize customers to spread the word about your store. Reward points when customers share your store on Twitter. They can only get rewarded once for this action.
10. Referring friends
Create a referral program. Reward customers points when they refer a friend who becomes a customer and makes their first purchase. Existing customers can get rewarded for every time they make a successful friend referral.
11. Product reviews
Reward points to customers when they leave product reviews and choose how often customers can get rewarded for leaving reviews.
For Shopify: Shopify's free Product Reviews App is required for this reward and needs to be enabled.

📝 Note: This feature allows you to set a maximum number of reviews per day/week/month as well as set a minimum character amount.
12. Manually add or remove points
Sometimes those situations pop up where you think a customer might need a little extra loving. You can adjust their points manually and send them an optional email to let them know why.

How to update the ways your customers can earn loyalty points
In your Marsello admin, under Earning Points
- Simply toggle ON / OFF on each of the ways customers can earn loyalty points
- Then update the points amount you want to reward for each action via the Edit button.
