Shopify POS: Install the Marsello "Scan, redeem loyalty rewards" app extension

How to add customers to the sale and access their loyalty profile to redeem loyalty rewards and email discounts.

For Shopify POS users

Easily add new customers in-store through your Shopify POS sale screen using the Marsello: Scan & Redeem Loyalty Rewards app extension tile. This tile allows your staff to quickly add customers to the current sale, ensure they earn loyalty points, and access their loyalty profile to redeem available rewards or email discounts—all from one convenient spot.


Before you get started

Ensure that the following installation has been completed:

  • Your POS sites are enabled under the Marsallo Sales Platform page

  • If you are working from an iPad to operate Shopify POS, it is recommended that you use the latest app version, iOS 13 or higher, as of September 30, 2022.


Add the Marsello: Scan, redeem loyalty rewards app extension tile to your Shopify POS sales screen

1. In the Shopify POS App's sales screen, tap Add tile

2. Under the Add tile settings, tap App

3. Tap Marsello: Loyalty, Email, SMS

4. Under App extensions, next to Marsello: Scan, redeem loyalty rewards, click Add

⚠️ Important: There are currently 3 app extensions related to loyalty visible.
​Please only add "Marsello: Scan, redeem loyalty rewards" – this is the only extension you need to access customers' loyalty profiles at POS.

The "Marsello: Loyalty, Email & SMS – Loyalty App" and "Show customer's reward – App Link" are now legacy Shopify POS extensions and will be removed in the coming months.

5. Tap Save to add the Marsello tile to your sales screen.

6. [Optional]: If you want to adjust the position of your Marsello tile, simply tap and drag the tile to the position you'd like it to display.

Marsello is now activated. The staff member can now access the customers' loyalty profile & available email discounts when processing sales in Shopify POS ✨

⚽️ Heads up: When the customer is added to the sale, the Marsello: Scan, redeem loyalty rewards tile, will automatically update from "Scan loyalty card" to "Show loyalty rewards" so staff can access the customer's loyalty profile.

📝 Note: The tile will not be clickable if the customer does not currently have any rewards or discounts available; this does not mean that the customer is not part of the loyalty program.


Access Marsello on the Shopify POS sales screen

The Marsello: Scan, redeem loyalty rewards app extension tile aims to make it easier and faster to reward and engage with your customers at POS.

1. Open your Shopify POS sales screen


2. Add the customer's products that they wish to purchase to the sale


3. Add your customer to the sale by searching for them by name or email address


4. Tap on the Show loyalty rewards tile

This will open the customer's loyalty profile. Here, you can view the loyalty points, reward(s), or email discount(s) they have available to use.

New Customer Portal & Apple Wallet integration

With these new features, you'll be able to tap "Scan loyalty card" to scan the customer's unique digital membership cards to add them to the sale.
