How to move your loyalty notifications into automations
Merchants who have installed Marsello prior to August 3, 2022 will notice that they have access to their loyalty email notifications under both notifications and automations. We highly recommend that you switch over to the new loyalty automations. You’ll gain more customization options as well as important email reporting that are not available with the current loyalty notifications.
📝Note: Merchants who have installed Marsello from August 3, 2022 onwards, along with those merchants who installed prior to August 3, 2022 and kept the loyalty notifications disabled, will only have access to these notifications under Automations.

Customizing your Earned Points Notification Automation
1. Once you have the automation editor open (from the previous step) you will be able to begin customizing your automation. Here you will be able to update the following settings:
- Trigger: Select the cog icon next to the trigger feature to update or confirm your audience
- Additional Steps: Select the "+" icon to open up the additional steps feature. This will allow you to add in a time delay for sending from when the customer enters the automation, additional email steps, additional SMS steps, or a points reward step.
2. Edit the contents of your message: To customize the contents of your message, simply click on the pencil icon next to the message to open the email editor. For additional help with using the editor, see our help center guide on creating an email campaign.
⚠️ Important: The Earned Points Automation is currently syncing the original merge tag of {{shop_name}} from the loyalty notification. You will need to remove the preset {{store_name}} merge tag from the automation and replace it with the one from the drop-down menu to ensure the Automation will send as expected.
To access the {{store_name}} merge tag:
- double-click into the text box where the merge tag will live. This will open up a secondary email editor.
- click on the drop-down menu next to Merge Tag and select the {{store_name}} merge tag.
3. Save and enable your Automation
