The following are step-by-step instructions on how to add a new customer to your loyalty program & marketing list in-store with Lightspeed Restaurant (O-Series) POS.
⚠️ Important: To use Marsello on your Lightspeed Restaurant (O-Series) POS, please enable the required sites under the Integrations page.

How to add a new customer to your Marsello customer database
To add a new customer to your Marsello customer database, all you need to do is add the customer to the sale in Lightspeed Restaurant (O-Series) POS.
1. Add the customer's products that they want to buy to the sale.
2. Tap Add Customer
3. Tap New customer
4. Enter the customer's Name and Mobile Number.
- Only First Name, and Mobile are required information for your customers to be added to your Marsello customer database. When collecting Mobile number, please ensure the country code is included and no other formatting such as spaces, brackets, or hyphens.
- If staff have time, they can also collect the other fields such as email address & marketing status and these will also be added to their customer profile in both Lightspeed Restaurant & Marsello.
5. Tap Save. The customer will then be added to the sale.
6. Complete the order
The customer will be automatically added to your Marsello customer database, including their details and order data.
How it works – Your customers' experience
After you have completed the order, your customer will be added to your Marsello customer database.
- The customer will automatically earn loyalty points for their purchase.
- The customer will receive the SMS Complete Account automation (if enabled) encouraging them to complete their account.
- This will open the in-store customer portal, where the customer can complete sign-up by clicking through one of the single-sign-on options. This will automatically capture their email address & marketing opt-in status.
- If the customer accepts marketing, they'll be able to receive your next marketing campaign and automation.
Find the new customer in your Marsello admin
After the order is completed, the customer will automatically be added to your Lightspeed Restaurant (O-Series) POS and Marsello customer lists. Please note this can take up to 5 minutes for the sync to complete.
1. In your Marsello admin, go to Customers
2. Search for the customer by name, mobile number or email address
3. Click the customer's name to open their profile
- See profile details (name, email, mobile, marketing status synced from Lightspeed Restaurant (O-Series) POS
- See order details (order number, date, and loyalty points calculation summary)
- Manage their account (adjust their points balance, unsubscribe them from emails, remove them from your customer list, etc.)
