Marsello discount decreases when a promotion is added to the sale
Example of an instance where the Marsello discount decreases when a Lightspeed Promotion is added to the sale too.
Let’s say you bought two dresses for $50 each and the total cost was $100.
Then, the store gave you a $10 discount because you’re a loyal customer, so the new total was $90. But then, the store also had a promotion where you get 50% off everything. So they applied that promotion to your order.
Now, your new total is $45 instead of $40 because the discount from the loyalty program was decreased to $5.
This happened because the store’s system treats the loyalty reward as a product that can also be discounted by the promotion. So the promotion affects all the products in your order, including the loyalty reward.
How to prevent the promotion from decreasing the value of the loyalty reward or discount?
1. When setting up a promotion in Lightspeed (X-Series) POS, go to the filter option that reads "filter products by tag, category, brand, supplier or SKU".
2. Select to exclude the Marsello discount. This means that the LSX promotion will NOT be used on the Marsello discount product going forward.
3. Click Save
