Lightspeed Retail POS (X-Series): How to redeem a reward from POS Prompts

Redeeming rewards in Lightspeed Retail (X-Series) has never been easier thanks to POS Prompts.

Before you start

Ensure that the following installation has been completed:

  • Your POS site(s) are enabled under the Integrations page

  • Your Marsello account is billed via Lightspeed (contact support if you're unsure).

  • You have access to Workflows in your Lightspeed Retail (X-Series) POS admin

    • To check:

      1. In your Lightspeed Retail (X-Series) admin, go to Settings

      2. In your Settings navigation, check if Workflows is a visible settings option for your Lightspeed account.


How to enable POS Prompts for loyalty rewards

1. In your Marsello app admin, go to Settings & More > Settings

2. Scroll down and select POS Prompts


3. [Optional]: Click Edit next to the available rewards prompt to update the title and prompt text.


4. Toggle the on/off button to ON next to the prompt.


Enabled prompts will display across all registers at all enabled sites. Specific sites can be selected via the edit function.

๐Ÿ“ Note: you can also add the ##{{vip_tier}} merge tag within the prompt message to display the VIP Tier of the customer.


How to redeem a loyalty reward or email discount from the POS Prompts

1. Should a customer have available rewards on their loyalty account, the POS prompt will notify staff at checkout when they click pay to ask customers if they'd like to redeem a reward on this particular sale. This includes email discounts.


2. From here, the customer will need to verbally confirm which reward they wish to redeem. For this example, we will be redeeming a 10% off product reward. The points listed next to the reward are how many points will be deducted from the customer's account. Once the reward option is selected, click continue.


3. Once redeemed, the amount of the discount will appear as a line item on the order.


How to remove a loyalty reward from an order for change of mind

1. Before completing the transaction, if the customer changes their mind about using the loyalty reward, you can remove it from the order. To do this simply, remove the customer from the order by clicking on the trash icon next to their name.


Once the customer is removed, the discount will also be removed from the order.


When the discount is removed from the order, Marsello will automatically refund the customer their loyalty points for that reward to their Marsello loyalty account.
